Who we are

Trypta (Continuity Doctors Pty Ltd t/a Trypta) is a private telehealth psychiatry practice led by Dr Ben Harwood, Consultant Psychiatrist, based in Tasmania. You can reach us at referrals@trypta.health or 0480 579 368.

What we collect, and why

We collect only what is reasonably necessary to care for you and to bill correctly: your identity and contact details, Medicare or DVA details, your referral, and the clinical information that arises from your care. Some of this arrives before we first speak with you — your referring doctor sends us your referral letter, which usually contains health information. Some collection is required or authorised by law: for example, Medicare claiming rules require your Medicare details, and prescribing is subject to legal record-keeping and monitoring requirements.

You can choose not to provide information. Without key clinical details we may not be able to offer safe psychiatric care, and without your Medicare details we cannot claim your rebates for you — we will always tell you if something you have chosen not to provide affects what we can do.

If you give us details of a support person or emergency contact, we hold them so we can respond appropriately in an emergency, and we contact them only for that purpose unless you have agreed otherwise.

Where your information lives

Your records are held in a secure, encrypted clinical records system controlled by the practice, on hardware in Australia. Our supporting services — email, calendar, document storage and video consultations — run on a Microsoft 365 tenancy homed in Microsoft's Australian region. Backups are encrypted and stay in Australia.

Who we share information with

Trusted service providers help us operate — Microsoft (email, calendar, storage, video), secure messaging networks, our payments provider, and our website-security provider. They process limited information under their own privacy obligations; your clinical record is never handed to a third party to use for their own purposes, and we do not sell or share your information for marketing.

Seeing and correcting your record

You may ask for access to your health information at any time, and ask us to correct anything inaccurate. We aim to respond within 30 days. Access can be refused only on limited legal grounds — if that ever happens, we will give you the reasons and how to complain.

Concerns and complaints

Raise any privacy concern with us first at referrals@trypta.health — we take it seriously and respond quickly. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992).

This page summarises the practice's Privacy & Confidentiality policy for patients. The practice operates under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
